Learning is fun! asked:

The fan on our laptop computer always turns on. Even elevating the bottom keyboard doesn´t help to keep this computer cool.

What else can I do?

I saw on the net about a hardwares that can cool your computer. It was like a board that when you put the laptop, your laptop will be cooler. Try to search in google. silentcon

You can buy a thin cooling plate so to speak that have a couple fans built in to them that your laptop sits on. You can get them at newegg.com. n8d1

They have special cooling plates at computer stores made specifically for that.

You can buy a wire rack that is made specifically for that purpose……or you can use a cooling rack that you can find in any store (like Walmart) in the kitchen section. (The kind used for cooling cookies…haha…no pun intended.

    Good luck. Tina D

I presume it wasn’t always like this so it may well be that the path of airflow is blocked due to a build-up of dust and hair.

Try blowing hard into the outgoing vent to see if you can dislodge any build-up. You may find it will help a little, but ultimately, you’ll need to strip the laptop in order to completely remove the blockage.

If you’re lucky, it may be as little as two screws, but if not, you may be better taking it to a professional. Al de Man
